Tennis Training Programs at Play Tennis Academy

Luis Palacios is a Certified Club Pro 2 and Coach 2 through Tennis Canada, with previous experience as a Head Coach, Tennis Director, and now Academy Owner and Director of Play Tennis Academy. 

As a coach, Luis has developed several players from beginner level to becoming some of the top-ranked players in the country. Multiple athletes he has coached have continued their careers at the NCAA Division 1 university level in the United States, while many other families have embraced tennis as a lifelong family sport thanks to his positive and development-focused approach. 

Luis’ dedication to tennis began more than 30 years ago in Caracas, where he started training and competing as a high-performance player. His coaching journey has since expanded across Canada, the United States, and Europe, combining international experience with a passion for player development and community building.

Coach Brendan is a Certified Club Pro 1 under the Tennis Canada. He has worked alongside Luis Palacios for more than 10 years, first as a player and later as a coach for over 5 years, learning, assisting, and integrating high-performance tennis concepts and coaching methodologies.

As a junior player, Coach Brendan was a top-performing tennis athlete in Ontario in the U12, U14, and U16 categories. His competitive passion for the sport continues today, as he still competes in several Open tournaments each year.

Coach Brendan brings strong playing experience, energy, and a deep understanding of player development to the court, helping athletes improve both technically and tactically in a positive and competitive environment.and a love for the game in a supportive environment.

Josie holds several ITF certifications, including Coaching Juniors and Adults. She is also an expert in Beach Tennis, Pickleball, and Padel, having competed nationally and internationally in these disciplines.

Josie is a recognized leader within the Beach Tennis community in Canada and has proudly represented Beach Tennis through Tennis Canada. Her passion, experience, and international competitive background bring tremendous value to players of all ages and levels.

U16 Canadian National Doubles Champion, U18 Provincial Doubles Champion, U16 Provincial Singles Finalist, U16 & U18 National Singles Top 5.

Former D1 tennis player at Boston University and Mount St. Mary's University where received MAAC Conference Player of the Year, First-Team All Singles at the #1 position, Transfer of the Year.

Current Assistant Coach at Lubbock Christian University since August 2024.

Coach at Whiteoaks since summer of 2020.

Theresa is a dedicated Club Pro 1 Certified coach in Canada with several years of experience both as a competitive player and as a coach. She was part of the ORC coaching team, where she contributed to player development and daily tennis programming.

In addition to coaching, Theresa remains highly active in the sport and continues to compete regularly in different tennis leagues, playing matches on a weekly basis. Her ongoing involvement in competition allows her to bring current match experience, energy, and passion to every lesson and program.
